I was just wondering if you thought Royce had a chance in hell of beating Hughes.I would love to see it but what do you think Mayhem?

[glow=red,2,300]I think Royce took the sport in a new direction with BJJ, but he isn't as well-rounded as he'd have us believe. There are other Gracies who would fare better with Matt Hughes, but they are contracted (I think) through Pride. I just don't want it to be a squash like Shamrock vs. Franklin.[/glow]

I honestly don't think there is aperson with the last name gracie who would beat Hughes.I respect the hell out of them for what they did but they seemed to let the sport evolve without them!

I would say Dana White did this mainly as a fight to try to get some different faces ordering the PPV, AND to string out the Hughes GSP rematch as long as possible.

Probably not even Rickson.I mean he has'nt fought in so long.I also think Hughes can win this easily on the ground as well if he wants to.I think he can GnP Royce without getting caught in any subs.

i don't think hughes will come out over confident...he will be typical Matt Hughes and rightfully so b/c he's on top of his game right now...i hope it's a great fight, but I see Hughes controlling the action!

True rickson hasnt fought in so long...but he has fought many times (even if the exact number is unknown) and they werent mma matches with gloves, they were challenges for honour and family pride. A much more dangerous situation in anyones book. In fact so has Royce,im fairly confident that Royce will come out ok...and wont be subbed. Hughes may get a lucky punch in but he wont submit a gracie. Anyone who can last an hour and a half with Sakuraba has my backing over an over confident hughes any day

Typical hughes is what im talkin about just like the same Matt that faught Penn.He thinks this is an easy fight same way he did with BJ and look what happened we all know this is just Dana's way trying to bring Hughes into the hall of fame Dana Matt and a bunch of others are thinkin that he will pound Gracie out therefore makin him the MAN because he beat the man that Made UFC what it is....

Anyone who can last an hour and a half with Sakuraba has my backing over an over confident hughes any day Eddie Bravo tapped a Gracie with a move he invented. That was in straight jui-jitsu.The gracies have reted on their laurels and let the sport evolve around them.I don't think Matt will have to tap Royce he will just disembowl him.I don't want him to but he is just to much for Royce!

Royce wins by triangle since Hughes has been dumb enough to fall into one before ( and almost lost ) thanks to his " I R DESTRUCTOR SLAMMIST" thingie

It's not going to be a pretty sight. Royce needs the gi, the public needs royce to have a gi.
