k. I would absolutely love to be a MMA fighter some day in my life, and I aint talking about UFC or pride, or any huge organazation, theres a few places in MASS. that hold MMA events.. I'd love to be active in those events, just dont know if I am on the right direction, recenlty in the last 3 months, I've picked up traditional okinawa karate, its real conditioning, and I'm 14 years old and in the adult class with many other older men, wich I dont mind, I think it makes me a better fighter.. I know my fighting has improved, but we dont spar, or we havent yet, and we really havent talked about fighting competitions till they were talking about when they are invited to diffrent martial arts schools and when they went up for there black belt test and all this stuff...
so I plan on sticking with that, and w/ me going to highschool next year, I plan on doing wrestling no doubt, so that would leave me w/ karate and wrestling, when I get older, get my licence in second year of highschool, I plan on attending a few Muy Thai class's a week at a gym called Boston Muy Thai a few miles from my house...
if I stick w/ all this, plus add stuff as I go along, is it possible I could be a very successfull fighter? should I hop on a diffrent track now? stay on it for awhile? or do what ever happens?
list your opinions..

Whatever you do, don't quit your day job as an English professor. I'd say you're headed down the right path with what you're doing, since school doesn't seem to be working out too well. Wise decision, Grasshopper.

First off, SeabasS, lay off the kid, stop taking shots at his grammar, we're all MayheM fans here and should get along, not make fun of each other. To marcwoj, just train and fight because you enjoy it, not because you want to make a career out of it. If the career comes along, sweet, but stick with school and do your best. I fight 'cause I love it...I've never taken a lesson, just watched fights and picked up whatever possible from them, and then I go out, get a bunch of my taller, heavier friends, and fight 'em in a league we made (a ghetto basement league). I just love fighting and that's why I do it, being a professional isn't my goal, but if somehow it happened (which I'm not banking on due to my lack of real training) that'd be awesome...for now college is the way for me and I'll just keep rooting for MayheM as the years go by. Keep training, try to pick up some jiu-jitsu lessons in there, and ignore people who poke fun at gramatical errors on a frigin online forum, good luck brudda.
